A mediados del mes de Halloween, Jake Wheeler un adolescente de 14 años consigue un muñeco a quién se apoda Chucky, lo quiere tratar como un amigo. Sin embargo, con el tiempo el muñeco tendrá tendencias violentas a la de un asesino, donde cometerá asesinatos, mientras que Andy Barclay y Kyle Simpson regresan para acabar con Chucky de una vez por todas.
